For those of you not familiar with this method of disposing of these creatures, it is a secret carefully guarded and passed down from my older brothers down the chain and now I pass it on. Good luck to those of you who suffer the same problems as we do!

Carnage
Our house has become a house of carnage. It's a morning and evening ritual, especially on the cool, wet days and evenings - sometimes as a family, other times as individuals - we stalk our prey and protect our garden boxes from being ransacked by slugs. I won't provide any pictures of our "kills" as we try to maintain a modest G to PG rating site, not to mention they are pretty disgusting. Yes, every morning and evening, we go outside with our salt shaker - it's a good thing that we bought a 50 lbs bag (yup, we bought a lifetime supply) and have plenty of salt to put on these suckers. Even the kids are involved - Liliana loves to spot them out for us and Mattie desperately tries to grab for the salt shaker, trying to get it to her mouth.

yuck! i remember walking in scotland after rainstorms and squishing the critters under my sneakers. i would slip and slide, nearly falling on them. gross. they were all over the place. it couldn't be avoided.
my cure? well, i was little enough to be hoisted to my uncle's shoulders and got a free ride to our destination.
happy killing!
