answer

Alright, so yesterday during quiet time (Liliana has all but given up nap time, so instead she goes to her room for quiet time, which for her means playing with all her toys in her room, singing, listening to music, eating snacks, etc,,,so really it is called quiet time because I GET SOME PEACE AND QUIET),I noticed that Mattie had fallen asleep in her bouncy chair looking so cute, so i took a picture. I thought that since I had not heard liliana playing in her room she must have fallen asleep as well and that I should get a pic of her sleeping too. I went to open her door and felt some resistance, so i assumed she had crashed on the floor behind her door. I kept pushing and pushing and realized I was not moving her but her toys were piled up behind the door. So i push it all the way open and take a look around (hurricane had hit, you see, liliana, only seems to remember where the toys are, not where they go once she is done with them, I am sure many children (and adults) have this same problem) I see the dress she had on laying on the floor but she is not in it. I think to myself, "Wow, did she climb into her bed herself?" and I look, nope not there. I look in the corners of her room, nope not there. I think, "maybe she went into her tiny closet and fell asleep", nope not there. So I start getting a little worried. And I think, "alright, has she given me the ol'slip and is outside now wandering around without her dress on"?. I mean I am getting a little nervous, did she escape out the window, where is she???
Then my eye catches an inch full of blond hair, sticking out from a cupboard door. I think to myself, "that looks like my childs hair", I open the door and sure enough, she had found a place to sleep...

Sisters...

it has been a busy weekend. Jacob is ready to get back to the hospital where at least some people listen to him (and he only has to ask ONCE!)
I have finally found and bought two matching dresses for the girls to wear today in church. Liliana was very excited about 'matching' as she is big into matching these days (she thinks that if her shirt has one shade of purple stripes in it it will match her pants that have a different shade of purple (and the stripes run a different way)) She also thinks she can wear one orange sock and one purple sock as long as both colors exist in her outfit. What can I say, she is my girl. I still matched that way in 5th grade. I had to conform to matching like a normal person in middle school as girls are relentless at that age if you don't at least dress normal, so no more wearing one hot pink sock and one white sock. Seems my daughter will carry on the torch for me.
Anyway, here are a few pics from the weekend. Enjoy

Who's been sleeping in my bed?

Good Ol' Goldie Locks...
Well I have two Goldie Locks' of my own...
Here are some bed pics. You will notice Mattie, both sound asleep this morning, and her smile upon waking in the nice big bed.
You will also notice Liliana trying to sneak into Mattie pack-n-play.
And last but not least you will notice Mattie's swing bed all empty...Jacob and I cannot fit in that, so someone is gonna have to give up a bed :)

Growing Pains (her growing and my pains)

Whenever I go out in public, people have the same two comments they all feel like sharing with me. I thought I would share them with you.
1. Wow, look at your baby's hair! Do you make it look like that? (they are referring to how mattie's hair sticks straight up). I always say, "no, I do not do my baby's hair, it just came out that way". I don't tell them that I hardly have time to do my own hair (usually it gets brushed once, maybe twice, a week) so why would I spend the time doing my daughters. My favorite version of the comment was a big muscle guy in target, "hey check out that mowhawk, man, nobody is gonna mess with that bad baby".
and
2. Oh, look at your cute little girls. Enjoy them right now, they grow up so quickly. Now normally I have nothing to say when they make such a comment, but I do have alot of things running through my head. Usually I am doing all I can at that point to make it through a shopping trip between the crying, yelling, whining, etc...(and that is just me, add in the girls and that makes three of us having a hard time) So in my head I am thinking about what a happy day it will be when they are all grown up. But this morning the girls were sleeping in and that peaceful moment offered me a chance to realize that my baby is growing up. Liliana will be 3yrs. old in two weeks. Where did my baby go? I thought I would share some of her baby pics. You know they are right. I will miss my babies when they are all grown up. All we are left with when they are grown are two more adults in the world. We all know how boring adults are. Faithful children is what we need more of. I am grateful for mine.

Chores

I am sure everyone goes a little 'crazy' when they start doing the dishes:)
It started out innocent enough, washing the dishes with soap and water, but then something about doing chores made her strip her shirt off and dunk her head in the soapy water. As I mentioned earlier, I'm sure doing chores drives us all 'crazy' (maybe just in a different way:))

Miracle Grow

Alright, I finally have a minute to update this. So yesterday I was thinking about our garden for the summer and what all we should plant. As liliana helped us plant last year (you know, throwing all of the carrot seeds into the nearby grass and all...), i thought I should ask her what she thought we should plant. Well she had loads to say:
Cheese, Pie, Ice Cream, pumpkins, juice, cans, beans, rice, spoons, forks, girls, bread, and (my favorite) dollars.
So folks, anybody want to come to our house during harvest time? :)
