aging

I am taking this moment to post. There are sooooooo many other things that needed to be taken care of right now, but I have to stay nearby the girls room so that Mattie does not escape. We put a lock on the door, but sometimes she can get it to open anyway (should I tell the store we bought it from that if it only works 75% of the time, then we should only have to pay 75% of the cost?)
It takes like 30 minutes or so for Mattie to wind down, long after Liliana falls asleep, and sometimes longer and drives us crazy. We have had her in a regular bed since she was 3mts old. She never even figured out that she could get out of her bed on her own till 10mts old but now she is out roaming her room, causing damage to things and turning the lights on and off (by the way, why would you put all the light switches in a home at a two-year olds height, I mean, she doesnt even have to stretch to reach them)
Anyway....I am tired and grumpy and sooooooo ready to have the baby. I am not nieve. I realize I will be tired and grumpy on the other side of having a baby as well. I am just tired of being pregnant.

Instead of tending my soup (which kinda burned) I was picking up massive amounts of puzzle pieces and sorting them from Mattie. I put the boxes up high (I thought)a nd went to discover that my soup was having issues (I had already put the cheese in the soup and now it was not creamy but curderled)....but we ate it anyway...

After spending an hour reading books with the girls in their room, mattie took off for downstairs to play. I just went down there. and yep, she pulled down all those puzzles, (I still dont know how she reached them) and they are all over the floor again. My first thought when I looked at them was...."Those are being put in the trash"....but honestly, if I threw away everything I had to clean, we would have nothing....

How do some people keep their houses so clean and tidy. In my most exurted effort I cant, someone is always right behind me to make a mess.
Anyway....I just had to pull out the pack-n-play. Sometimes, some kids (people) just can't handle their freedom....So I have confined her for sleep, which she has never had....it doesnt seem to bother her, she is laughing and having a good time running around the pack-n-play
I feel another gray hair coming on............

a new week

Well. I have a quick moment to update. We actually have some rooms totally done and just a few more to do. We are all trying to adjust to a work schedule again as Jacob finished up early with school and that gave him 6 good weeks off. It is mostly Mattie and Me sometimes that are having a hard time but LIliana knows what work means and that at some time Jacob will always come back, sometimes we just don't know when.

We have about 3 weeks left till the arrival of the baby. I have actually unpacked a few of her clothes finally but still have some 'getting ready' to do, as 'ready' as you can get for a newborns entrance on the scene.

We are still going back and forth about names and look forward to seeing her and really hoping that she may just come out with a nametag and make it easy for us (you know, like cabbagepatch dolls do)

We tried to go pick strawberries but with all the rain we only walked away with 3 qrts and we wanted 50, so does anyone know where there are lots of strawberries to be picked? We really don't want to miss the chance to get stocked up for the year and are willing to drive to do it.

Well I guess that is it for now.

Our town

So tomorrow is moving day. I am excited but know how crazy and long these next few days will be. The girls are quite excited to be in our new home. In preparation I got online to look at something about the town and saw its little slogan. I just had to share.

Milford, Maine "Best little town by a dam site"

Yeah, were moving to the boonies or should I say, back to the rest of maine. We are about 5 miles away from where we currently are staying in orono...

Still camping

Well we survived our first day of Jacob going to work yesterday. Although Mattie never let him out of her sight once he got home, so much so, that she would flip out if he walked into the next room. She is not to understanding at her age to not having her daddy around and ask about him throughout the day but I am sure she will understand the schedule soon.
Now we just have to work on me not flipping out when he walks into another room :)

We both got new cell phones last night and will send out an email tonight with our new numbers and new address.

Jacob got his schedule at work and he will be starting with an elective and then spending the month of July in the Emergency department, which from what I understand will be a certain amount of 12-hr shifts. I will find out more as time goes on.

We discovered the Natural Food store in bangor yesterday. It was nice to see that I could also buy raw milk, cheese, and free-range eggs there as well as the Market.

The midwife appointment went well. We have about 5 weeks left (not really counting, except on really humid days when I would give anything to not be pregnant) but mostly I am trying to stay pregnant until we are settled (never thought I would actually WANT to stay pregnant).

My kids are going crazy with all this rain and not having their toys and friends, so we have been trying to find things to do, we will all be ready to move into our home this Saturday.

Bangor update

So lets see. Jacob just left for his first day of work (its been a long time since he has had a steady job like this....the side effect of being a student). I knew this day would arrive but it is still hard. Thankfully he only works 40/hr weeks for the next few weeks, which I guess is a good transition time.

We will move into our new home this Saturday. It is a nice home, nice little backyard, decent price, just not in the cute little location we wanted. But we are so happy to have found something that allows us to move into it by the weekend.

So Jacob will go retrieve our things this weekend and we may just have time to unpack and get settled before crazy hours start.

I go for another check-up today with the Midwife, so this will be my first time driving around by myself. We will see if I find my way home...this is a time I wish I had a GPS.

Oh, we went to the farmers market this past saturday and walked around drooling and eating many samples. We could not believe the diversity of items there as well as the quality. The only thing we bought was some Chocolate raw milk (yummy), but they had beautiful sourdough breads, homemade granola bars, loads of veggies (including big heads of Broccoli, bunches of carrots, and even some greenhouse grown tomatoes, everything was locally grown and organic). There were loads of free-range eggs and every type of meat you could imagine, all grass fed and free range, many types of cheeses, all raw, even seafood....We look forward to shopping there once we get settled and supporting our local farmers while we get the freshest food to eat.

Well this is it for now. We miss our old home and friends but are trying to look forward.

Life at the crazy house is crazy:)

Lets see, here is alittle update of the last little while around here.

This past Saturday, Jacob graduated from osteopathic Medical school (YEAH!!). It was a great day and beautiful weather and great to be with family and friends throughout the day. Seriously, it seemed for so long that this day would never arrive but as with all things, this also came to an end. I had to keep myself from totally falling apart at the graduation, it has been a long haul for the both of us. It also happens to co-incide with having to say goodbye to some dear friends. I have included a picture of jacob and jef both wearing their bow-ties. I am sure we will see them again.

Monday I got to go up to Bangor. I left around 6am so that I could be up there for a Midwife appt for the baby. Back 2 months ago, when we were going to rent the original house we were set to move up there by this appointment. That seems so long ago since we lost that first house and have been looking for what seems like EVER!!!!...anyway, the midwife was great and I am getting nice and round like a good pregnant person. Time is drawing pretty close and I cant even believe it.

After the appointment I stopped in to look and take measurements of the home we agreed to rent and the tenant showed me around. After that visit I realized we could not rent that home afterall. She had some not great things to say about the landlord that scared us, so we had to call him and cancel our desire to rent his home....so you know what that means right.........

We are still looking......Jacob is going up Saturday morning I think, maybe Friday night also, we will see. I just have to laugh about it now it is so ridiculous and you know, our friends who I mentioned above are going through the same thing we are, just in a different state and are currently crashing with family, totally without a home for very similar reasons. I know this wouldnt be an issue if we lived locally and could look at places every evening or drive by areas etc...but it is so dragged out because of the distance.

But nonetheless we are packing and hope to be out of this home mid-week, next week, so that our landlords can get into the home and get it ready to sell.

You really never know how much stuff you have until you try to pack it all up....but we are making headway every day and hopefully we will meet our target date.

That is it for now....

so what is going on...

Well here is another quick update.

We have found a house!!!!!!!!!!!Infact we found two.....always happens that way, huh?

Anyway, tonight we are haggling about move in dates etc and will get that figured out by the end of the evening and let one of the landlords down by turning down their home. Both really want us as renters, which we are thankful for.

The one we will end up with is also one we could buy if we wanted too, which is also a nice perk we can deal with later. It is in Hampden.

Right now it is looking like we will have to move in a week AFTER jacob starts work, which stinks but we are working on it and will keep you posted (so that would be a June 27th move in date, incase you are reading this and may be able to help on one end or the other)

Pregnancy is going mostly okay. I am recently severely anemic (my Iron count is 1pt away from qualifying for a blood transfusion-and needing one!) so I am really light headed, which stinks (hard to concentrate and take care of kids, etc....) and im tired alot and sometimes just really feel like if I dont sit down I am going to pass out (sounds great , huh?)

Anyway, this seems to happen right around now with my pregnancies, so I have upped my iron intake and hopefully will start feeling better soon (makes for alot of fun doing the whole packing bit)....

Jacob has 2 little days of 'classes' or last minute stuff he has to do at school this week (you know, the meeting where they tell you how much you owe and who to send checks too...) and then Saturday is graduation. We are really excited and I think I am even going to get my hair cut (what an occassion :))
